Talwandi Sabo (June 15, 2014): Annoyed with the astonishing performance of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal called upon the people to judge SAD-BJP government themselves, only on the basis of its performance, rather than the “hollow and baseless” criticism by any other political party just “to mislead” the public.

The AAP had lashed out at the ruling alliance during the recent Lok Sabha elections especially Bhagwant Mann in Sangrur and ruling alliance had to face heat by winning just four seats. As the SAD-BJP is campaigning for upcoming bye-elections in Talwandi Sabo, Patiala and Dhuri (Dhuri is not vacated so far) and AAP and congress are raising issues like drugs, power cuts, sand mafia and empty treasuru along with other standing issues, Badal Dal fears of poor performance in the by-elections.

The SAD-B had a very bitter experience of by-election in Moga in 2012 as it managed to get a lead of just 17,000 votes despite all possible efforts while there was a weak candidate of congress Vijay Sathi.

While addressing the public during the second day of Sangat Darshan programme in the seven villages of Talwandi Sabo assembly constituency, said that there was no political motive behind the Sangat Darshan programme, it was solely based on the principle that for the creation of a healthy society it was essential that all the three components of the society namely public, elected representatives and bureaucracy must sit together and work in unison.

Ironically, opposite to his claims, he himself is conducting Sangat Darshan only in Talwandi Sabo of Bathinda, where by-election is must in next some months while Punjab has 116 other assembly segments except Talwandi Sabo.
