New Delhi: A new video has surfaced from the JNU campus in which JNU professor Nivedita Menon said that Kashmir was illegally occupied by India.

“Everyone knows that India is illegally occupying Kashmir. Everybody accepts (it),” Prof. Nivedita Menon said to students of JNU at a gathering on February 22.

Prof. Nivedita Menon, who teaches at the Centre for Comparative Politics and Political Theory at the School of International Studies in JNU said that the map of India by foreign publications like Time and Newsweek show a different map of the region.

However these maps are censored and destroyed by by Indian authorities, argues Menon. The 55-year-old professor further said, “When the whole world is talking about India’s illegal occupation of Kashmir, then we should think the pro-azaadi slogans in the valley are justified”.
