Sophian, Kashmir (September 11, 2013): As per certain media reports the Sikh residents of south Kashmir’s violence-torn Shopian town maintained on September 11, 2013 that miscreants pelted stones on their houses and damaged their vehicles.
Senior Kashmiri leader Syed Ali Shah Geelani has reportedly said the incident involving Sikhs was an attempt to give a new twist to the protests over Saturday’s killings in Shopian and assured safety to the Kashmiri Sikhs.
All Parties Sikh Coordination Committee Chairman, Jagmohan Singh Raina said that some miscreants resorted to stone pelting and harassed the minority community in Shopian, the town which has been on the boil since Saturday when four persons were killed after being fired upon by CRPF.
The Sikh delegation also visited the families of slain youth and grieved the death of these youth in CRPF firing.
Shiromani Akali Dal (Mann) leader, Jogindar Singh Shan reportedly told some media networks that the Sikh leaders has brought the matter into the notice of separatist leaders who assured us that action would be taken against the miscreants.
‘Mr. Geelani told us that he would personally look into the matter and would find who are these miscreants who try to make a wedge between the two communities who are living in peace and amity for centuries in Kashmir’, Shan said.
