Chandigarh: In December 2018 the Maharashtra ATS had arrested two men from Chakan. One of the persons is said to be named as Harpal Singh Nagra while the name of other person was not disclosed.
As per latest reports, the ATS has now handed over investigation of their case to India’s National Investigation Agency (NIA).
The ATS said that its investigation revealed that Harpal Singh is a native of Ropar, Punjab, living in Karnataka at the time of his arrest. He was working for a well-known steel company (he had an L&T ID card on him at the time of arrest) as a driver, and often travelled across the country transporting consignments, the ATS says.
The investigative agency allege that Harpal Singh was connected with ‘Khalistan’ related activities.
The ATS maintains that Harpal Singh had links with Delhi based Mohsin Khan who was arrested by it with the help of Punjab police on December 24 last year from Sirhind in Punjab.
Now the investigations are said to be handed over to the NIA.
