Malerkotla Beadbi Incident: AAP MLA Naresh Yadav Arrested by Punjab Police

Malerkotla/New Delhi: Punjab Police has arrested Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader and Mehrauli MLA Naresh Yadav from his home-cum-office in Delhi in connection with a registered in relation to beadbi of Quran in Malerkotla. He was arrested around 8:30 pm yesterday when he returned to his home along with AAP leader Sanjay Singh. Before his arrested the police had conducted raids at his house cum office in the morning to arrest him but he was present at there at that time.

As per reports the aarrest is made on the basis of an arrest warrant issued by a Malerkotla court had issued an arrest warrant on Saturday.

“A team of 12 Punjab police officials reached Delhi to arrest the MLA”, superintendent of police Jaskiranjit Singh Teja said.

Notably, there was widespread outrage in Malerkotla after the incident of beadbi of Quran. The police had arrested three persons in this regard, who were reportedly linked to Hindutva outfits (Read in Detail). But later the police alleged the involvement of AAP MLA Naresh Yadav and focus was shifted away from the involvement of Hindutva outfits.
