Maluka Incident: Jarnail Singh narrates terrible beating story to the doctors

Faridkot: Bapu Jarnail Singh Hamirgarh, 65, who had assaulted Punjab minister Sikandar Maluka during a public function at Harmigarh village in Bathinda few days ago, has reprotedly narrated a terrible story of his beating by Youth Brigade of the ruling party. As per media reports Jarnail Singh was picked up by members of the youth brigade who were accompanying Sikandar Maluka soon after he had slapped Maluka. He was dropped at civil hospital, Bhagta Bhaika after he was severely beaten up and had turned unconscious.

Jarnail Singh, who is currently being treated at GGS Medical College and Hospital Faridkot, is stated to be stable. Doctors at the Guru Gobind Singh Medical College and Hospital said Jarnail was conscious, but unable to move as he was suffering severe pain.

Doctors told media persons that though there were no grievous or life threatening injuries, the old man had many blunt traumas on various parts of his body. In view of Jarnail Singh’s poor condition, doctors didn’t let the Bathinda police record his statement today.

According to The Tribune: Jarnail Singh (has) narrated the tormenting experience he underwent after he was picked up by some members of a youth brigade accompanying the minister. Jarnail Singh revealed to the doctors in the surgery ward that he was beaten black and blue for over two hours.

The doctors said Jarnail Singh broke down several times while narrating the incident. They said Jarnail lost consciousness during the incident and didn’t remember where they dumped him or who took him to the hospital in Bhagta Bhai Ka.
