New Delhi/ Chandigarh: BJP MLA Manjinder Singh Sirsa today alleged that his turban was forcefully removed when he was marshalled out of the House. The ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) however refuted his claim.

While speaking to the media-persons outside the Delhi state assembly, Manjinder Singh Sirsa said that he was manhandled and his turban was forcefully removed during the adjournment in the House.

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA Saurabh Bhardwaj, while speaking inside the assembly, alleged that Manjinder Singh Sirsa removed “his turban with his own hands and stuck his leg in the chair while marshalls were requesting him to go out of the House”.

Speaker Ram Niwas Goel, terming the opposition MLA’s act as “condemnable”, referred the matter to the Privilege Committee.

Manjinder Singh Sirsa has uploaded a video clip on his Facebook page. In which it could be seen that Manjinder Singh Sirsa was laying on the floor and holding his turban with his hands. He was alleging that his turban was being removed forcibly. In this video AAP MLA Jarnail Singh was seen as saying to the marshalls to pick up Sirsa and respectably and drop him outside the House. Jarnail Singh could also be heard that he (Sirsa) was a dramebaaz and was removing his own turban.

Notably, Manjinder Singh Sirsa had moved a notice with the Secretary of the Delhi State Assembly demanding removal of Speaker for dropping the line from the Resolution which read that “this House also resolved that Centre should withdraw Bharat Ratna from the then acting Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi”.
