New Delhi, India: Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Prabhandak Committee (DSGMC) general secretary Manjinder Singh Sirsa was caught into controversy when he addressed Namdhari sect chief Uday Singh as “Satguru” during Delhi Fateh Divas celebrations by DSGMC. Manjinder Singh Sirsa was inviting dignitaries on the stage when he invited Namdhari sect chief as “Satguru” in the presence of Guru Granth Sahib and Jathedars of various Sikh Takhts on March 21.
Manjinder Singh Sirsa’s remarks triggered a controversy following which he had to apologies from the stage. DSGMC chief Manjit Singh GK also tendered apology for Manjinder Singh Sirsa’s “mistake”.
In a statement Pakistan Sikh Gurdwara Prabhandak Committee (PSGMC) General Secretary Gopal Singh Chawla urged Akal Takht Jathedar Giani Gurbachan Singh to summon Manjinder Singh Sirsa for addressing Namdhari sect chief as ‘Satguru’ in the presence of Guru Granth Sahib and the Sikh Sangat. As per certain media reports, Giani Gurbachan Singh said that the issue would be discussed in next meeting of five Sikh Jathedars.
