Mann Dal leaders show black flags to Modi at Karnal rally, Four arrested and released on bail

Karnal, Haryana (October 4, 2014): Shiromani Akal Dal Amritsar (Mann) leaders and supporters showed black flags to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi at his Karnal rally on Saturday. The police arrested five top leaders of Simranjit Singh Mann’s party following the protests while they were released on bail in the evening.

According to vice president of Haryana unit of SAD A, Darbara Singh Karnal, dozens of Mann supporters gathered near the rally spot near Gurdwara Nirmal Kutia but the police detained most of them ahead of arrival of Narendra Modi.

Five top leaders of the party succeeded in reaching near the rally spot. They were wearing black overcoats to mark the protest. They also raised anti-Modi slogans and distributed pamphlets explaining Modi’s anti-Sikh and anti-Muslim face terming Modi as a Killer, said Darbara Singh.

Police arrested Jaskarn kahan singh wala general secretary of the party, Gurjant singh Rampur, Harshminder singh Barnala, Ranjit Singh Sanghera Moga executive committee member of Mann Dal and Darbara Singh Karnal vice president Haryana unit.

After arresting them, the police took them to Civil police station Karnal and registered a case for disturbing peace against them. Party president Simranjit Singh Mann also reached the police station in the evening and the leaders were released on bail at around 5.00 p.m.

“Modi had stabbed in the back of 60,000 Punjabi and Sikh farmers in Gujarat while he forced them to leave the state. Modi was responsible for killing of Muslims in Gujarat in Godhra incident in 2002 as well”, said Darbara Singh while explaining the reason of the protest.
