Mansa police again gets one day remand of Baba Baljit Singh Daduwal

Mansa, Punjab (August 29, 2014): Baba Baljeet Singh Daduwal was again presented in the court of ACMS Kuldeep Singh Cheema today by the Mansa district police. He was sent commanded judicial custody in a 2011 Bhikhi case, in which the court had granted his one day police remand yesterday, however the police was able to get police remand of Baba Daduwal in a fresh case.

Sikh Siyasat News (SSN) sources revealed that the Mansa district police has registered a fresh case against Baba Baljit Singh under FIR number 97 dated: 27 August 2014 under sections 25/54/59 of Arms Act at police station Sadar Mansa. After the ACJM Kuldeep Singh commanded Baba Daduwal to be sent to judicial custody in Bhikhi case, the police demanded his police remand in fresh case. After hearing the brief arguments the magistrate grant one day police remand.

Earlier, the Mansa district police was able to get one day police remand Baba Baljit Singh Daduwal in a 2011 case against him. He was produced before a Mansa court on August 28 on production warrants from Faridkot Jail.

This case was registered against him at Bhikhi in 2011 on the complaint of Dera Sauda Sirsa followers for allegedly speaking against controversial head of the dera.

This case has been laying buried under the dust since 2011 but the was quick to re-open this case after Daduwal was arrested by Faridkot police on 21 August in a 5 years old Bajakhana case.

While speaking to reporters during his court appearance Baba Baljit Singh maintained that Punjab government was harassing him because of political vengeance. He said that agitated over it’s failure in HSGMC issue, the Punjab government was targeting him.

Hundreds of supporters of Baba Baljeet Singh were present outside the Mansa court complex. The police made tight security arrangements at the judicial complex and it did not allow Baba Baljit Singh Daduwal’s supporters and the Sikh sangat to enter the court to meet Baba Baljeet Singh.
