Amritsar, Punjab (May 5, 2014): Some miscreant/s distorted a photograph of Darbar Sahib (Amritsar) and shared it on Facebook and WhatsApp etc. The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) and other Sikh bodies have voiced serious concerns in this matter.

The tempered photograph shows Gujarat chief minister and BJP’s prime ministerial candidate, Narendra Modi, sitting inside the Darbar Sahib. The image is disgraceful and Sikhs are feeling deeply hurt in this matter.

SGPC president Avtar Singh Makkar said that the SGPC body would approach the authorities concerned to register a case, in accordance with the law, against the accused who has uploaded this picture on the Facebook and WhatsApp sites that showed this distortion.

According to media reports the accsued has been identified as Mandeep Saroya alias Deep Kumar.

“We have asked the police authorities to locate the accused and book him as per the law. We will also seek his persecution under the Cyber Crime laws”, Avtar Singh Makkar reportedly said on May 04.
