Moga: More than eight months after his arrest, an Indian court in Moga framed charges against arrested Scottish citizen Jagtar Singh Johal alias Jaggi on Thursday (June 12). The charges are framed in a case registered in 2016 at Baghapurana police station in Moga district.
Jagtar Singh Johal was presented before the court of Charanjit Arora, Additional Session Judge, Moga along with Hardeep Singh Shera (Kapurthala jail), Ramandeep Singh Bagga (Ropar jail), Dharminder Singh Gugni and Anil Kala (in Nabha jail), Taljit Singh Jimmy and Jagjit Singh Jammu (in Sangrur jail). Tarlok singh Laddi who is on bail in this case also attended the court proceedings.
The case was registered under various sections of Arms Act and Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA).
Defence councils Advocate Jaspal Singh Manjhpur, Advocate Jagpreet Singh Chadda and Advocate Mandeep Channan said that charge were framed under sections 25 Arms act, 120B of IPC, 17 18 19 20 of UAP Act against all persons nominated in this case. Hardeep Singh Shera faces additional charges under sections 419, 420, 467, 468 and 471 of Indian Penal Code.
Advocate Jaspal Singh Manjhpur told Sikh Siyasat News (SSN) that the case was adjourned to 26 July 2018.
