Amritsar: Cricketer turned politician Navjot Sidhu is now on the core committee of BJP’s Punjab unit. On the other hand local bodies minister Anil Joshi is dropped from the list. Joshi was not in good terms with Navjot Sidhu for quite some time.

The development has surprised many as Sidhu had long been sidelined in the saffron party’s state unit. Sidhu, a three times MP from Amritsar was not given party ticket during last Lok Sabha elections in 2014, since then he was not active in politics.

It is being believed that the BJP has signalled it’s ally Shiromani Akali Dal (Badal) that Navjot Sidhu would play vital role for the BJP in the run up to the Punjab Polls 2017.

As per media reports, the BJP has also dropped Tikshan Sud, a former MLA and minister who is at present enjoying the status of Political Advisor to the Chief Minister, Parkash Singh Badal.
