Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar/Mohali: A team of the National Investigation Agency (NIA) of India today presented Sikh political prisoner Bhai Harminder Singh Mintoo before a special NIA court in Mohali and sough his police remand in case no. RC/26/DLI/17. The case is related to an incident of firing at Kidwai Nagar shakha of Hindutva outfit Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh (RSS).
Defence council Advocate Jaspal Singh Manjhpur told Sikh Siyasat News (SSN) that Harminder Singh Mintoo was presented before the court of special NIA judge Ms. Anshul Berry and NIA demanded 7 days police remand.
The remand plea was opposed by the defence and after hearing arguments of both the sides, the court sent Harminder Singh Mintoo on 3 days police remand.
The NIA has reportedly taken Harminder Singh Mintoo to Delhi for interrogation. Next court appearance in this case is on March 23, said Advocate Jaspal Singh Manjhpur.
