The congregation was held in the memory of six Sikh vitims of Oak Creek (Wisconsin) Sikh Gurdwara terror strike.
As per NorthJersey: Hundreds attended a candlelight vigil outside the temple Saturday night. Congregants from throughout North Jersey stood in front of a sign that contained the words “No Hate” and “No Fear.” Guldeep Singh Sethi, secretary of the temple, said that during the event he urged those who gathered not to mourn those who died last year, but to remember those guiding principles.
“It was not a moment of sorrow or grief,’’ he said. “But a time to celebrate the concept of living in high spirits.”
It is notable that on August 5, 2012 a neo-Nazi white supramacist had opened gun fire inside Oak Creek Sikh Gurdwara Sahib. The incident, that left six dead, had shook the American and Sikh society to a large extent. This August marks the first anniversary of this tragic event.
