Not Attacked by Anyone, Its Mere Rumour: says Avtar Singh Makkar

Ludhiana: Whereas reports of alleged attack on former Shiromani Gurdwara Prabhandak Committee (SGPC) chief Avtar Singh Makkar is making rounds over social media, Makkar while talking to the Sikh Siyasat News (SSN) said he was not attacked by anyone.
“Its a mere rumour, I am not attacked by anyone”, Avtar Singh Makkar told SSN over phone.
“The time since I ‘left’ the presidentship of the SGPC, I have not gone to Amritsar. The news about attack is a mere rumour and it has not substance”, he added.

Offering a self clarification Avtar Singh Makkar said that he did not engage in any embezzlement and people who have themselves engaged in embezzlements after demonetisation were spreading these rumours against him.
“Even my passport had expired long time ago and I did not went abroad, therefore people are falsely alleging that I have taken the money out of country. Its totally wrong accusation”, Makkar added.
Notably, SSN had called former SGPC chief to inquire about reports related to attack on Avtar Singh Makkar that were in circulation over social media, particularly the Facebook.
