Now two Russian tourists drowned, one goes missing as bus falls into river in Uttrakhand

Dehradun, Uttrakhand (June 10, 2014): As many as two Russian nationals drowned in Bahgirthi river in Uttrakhand while 9 injured and one was missing.River Accident

A bus was ferrying the tourists to Gangotri in Uttrakhand and it fell off the road about 2 km away from Harshil and drowned into Bhagirathi river on Tuesday.

The incident occurred a day after over 20 students got drowned in Beas river in Himachal Pradesh due to alleged negligence of Larji hydropower plant administration.

The mishap in Uttarakhand happened in the afternoon today. Furthermore, the senior officials have reached the spot and rescue operation is underway.

Bhagirathi is one of the two headstreams of the Ganga and is considered as the source stream of the holy river.
