Zee (Punjab, Haryana Himachal) blacked out form Cable network in Punjab

Chandigarh: It is learnt that the telecast of a Punjabi news channel Zee Punjab Haryana Himachal was stopped in Punjab by the Fastway Cable network. The cable network that is said to be under the influence of Shiromani Akali Dal (Badal), the ruling party of Punjab, stopped the telecast of Zee Punjab Haryana Himachal two days back. According to Zee (Punjab Haryana Himachal) the channel was blacked out from the Fastway cable network without any reason.

Earlier the Fastway had refused to telecast Day and Night News channel. As a result the operations of the channel were shut. Similarly, the Fastway had refused to air ABP Sanjha, a Punjabi regional channel from the ABP Network.

These channel were considered critical to the ruling regime of Punjab. Such activities are being viewed as attack on freedom of media.

The Fastway could not be contacted for comments at the time of writing this news.
