Lahore, Pakistan: The executive committee of the Pakistan Sikh Gurudwara Parbandhik Committee held a meeting to chalk out the plans for ‘Kar Sewa’ of Gurudwaras. The meeting was attended by PSGPC President, members and other office bearers besides Chairman of Aukaf Board.
It was reportedly decided in the meeting that PSGPC will mark the martyrdom anniversary of Guru Arjan Ji as per un-ammended (2003) Nanakshahi Calendar on June 16. PSGPC officials extended invitation to Sikh devotees, organizations and Gurdwara Committes to attend Shaheedi Samagam.
PSGPC leader Gopal Singh said that the PSGPC has decided to hanover the Kar Sewa of Gurudwara Dehra Sahib to the Shiromani Akali Dal (Delhi) led by former DSGMC chief Paramjit Singh Sarna. “Kar Sewa will commence on June 16 in association with Sikh devotees residing in Pakistan”, Gopal Singh said.
In a written statement sent to the Sikh Siyasat News (SSN), Gopal Singh clarified that when the delegates of current DSGMC visited Pakistan in recent past, they tried to create illusions among Sikh devotees.
‘We want to made it clear that Kar Sewa of any Gurudwara of Pakistan will not be handovered to DSGMC or SGPC until they adopt the oroginal Nanakshahi Calendar.
