Moga, Punjab: Annoyed with the various anti-employees decision of Punjab government, lethargic attitude towards demand of National Health Mission employees and cut in the health budget by centre, the paramedical and health employees are going to open front at state level against both Punjab government and the centre.
The state government is already facing wrath of contractual employees working under National Health Mission for axing their little salaries while the regular employees will now provide a vast platform for the struggle of contractual staff. The regular paramedical and health employees working in health and family welfare department are going to organize general house for its delegates from across the state in Moga on May 2 and 3, 2015 to formulate the policy of the struggle against the government.
“The state coordination committee of the employees would caution the state government with a protest rally in the main bazaar of Moga from civil hospital Moga to main chowk of the city near bus stand”, said state convener of the committee Ravinder Luthra and national convener Kulvir Singh Dhillon during a state level meeting of the state committee at Prem Hotel in Moga.
“Modi led Achhey Din government in the centre has reduced the budget reserved for health from Rs 450 crore to Rs 375 crore for Punjab for the financial year 2015-16 while state government has taken back various facilities given to the health employees in order to save money for hiking salaries of cabinet ministers and MLAs”, alleged Luthra and Dhillon.
“The contractual employees under NHM are working on too little wages less than even minimum wages but the state government even reduced their little salaries. They had to sit on pen down strike to make the state government to revert back its decision”, they further added.
“The government deprived many employees of ACP scheme, reduced service period of class III and class IV, failed to fill the vacant seats, refused to give the due promotions, refused to regularize pharmacists and class IV in 1186 rural dispancries, imposed a ban on recruitment of drivers and class IV employees and imposed a decision of recruiting new employees on just basic pay. These decisions can never be tolerated and the state level general house would formulate a policy to open front against the state government”, they further said.
