Moga, Punjab: The paramedical and health employees from across Punjab state organised a protest rally against Punjab government to mark a protest against various anti-employees decision of Punjab government, lethargic attitude towards demand of National Health Mission employees and cut in the health budget by centre. Opening the front against the state government, the paramedical and health employees has started two days general house of the state body of the coordination committee of the health and paramedical employees at hotel Dhawan near Kotkapura bypass in Moga city from today.
The rally started from Nature Park and concluded at the main chowk of the city after going through the Bazaars of the city.
At the time when Modi led Achhey Din government in the centre has reduced the budget reserved for health from Rs 450 crore to Rs 375 crore for Punjab for the financial year 2015-16, state government has withdrawn various facilities given to the employees while state government is giving no hear to the demand of regularisation of the contractual workers in the health department”, alleged state convener of the committee Rvinder Luthra and national convener Kulbir Singh Dhillon.
“The contractual employees under NHM are working on just Rs 4000 to 12000 under various categories but state government has refused regularise their services. They are the professional degree holders including MBAs, MCAs etc and they deserve the regular jobs in the department”, they further added.
“The government deprived many employees of ACP scheme, reduced service period of class III and class IV, failed to fill the vacant seats, refused to give the due promotions, refused to regularize pharmacists and class IV in 1186 rural dispancries, imposed a ban on recruitment of drivers and class IV employees and imposed a decision of recruiting new employees on just basic pay. These decisions can never be tolerated and the state level general house would formulate a policy to open front against the state government”, they further said.
