Amritsar: Punjab Chief Minister and Shiromani Akali Dal (Badal) patron Parkash Singh Badal was reportedly denied Siropa by an Ardasia Singh of the Darbar Sahib. CM Badal paid homage at the Darbar Sahib today but Bhai Balbir Singh refused to bestow a Siropa on him. This news is confirmed by sources and is also reported by ABP Sanjha. Sikh Siyasat News (SSN) tried to reach out Bhai Balbir Singh directly to confirm the news but the link could not be established.
Bhai Balbir Singh had earlier denied Siropa to Punjab’s Deputy CM Sukhbir Badal.
It is notable that Siropa is considered to be manifestation of the blessings and a token of honor. Punjab CM Parkash Singh Badal and Deputy CM Sukhbir Badal have invited widespread criticism after Bargari and Behbal Kalan incidents.
