Physiotherapy Department of SGGS World University Holding Service Camps Dedicated to 550th Parkash Gurpurab

Fatehgarh Sahib: Department of Physiotherapy of Sri Guru Granth Sahib World University, Fatehgarh Sahib organized a physiotherapy camp at Gurdwara Sahib of village Deva Mander during a series of camps dedicated to the 550th Parkash Gurpurab of Guru Nanak Ji.

Under this series the camps are being organized in different parts of Punjab under the supervision of Dr. Pankakpreet Singh, Incharge, Department of Physiotherapy and Dr. Supreet Bindra, Assistant Professor.

“Gurjeet Singh, President, village Gurdwara committee and Gram Panchayat assisted specially in the organization of this camp. Dr. Singh said that during the camp 150 patients took benefits of the services provided during the camp”, reads a statement issued by Public Relations Department of SGGS World University.

Dr. Singh further added that the Department of Physiotherapy keeps updating its students about the latest developments in the field besides their regular curriculum of the courses. Under this policy they invited Dr. Sandeep Singh, Assitant Professor, Department of Physiotherapy, Punjabi University, Patiala, who conducted a workshop on ‘stroke management’.

“During the workshop, 80 students participated. They learnt about the brain stroke during different sessions of the workshop along with the hands on practice related to the therapeutical positioning and treatment of the patient. Dr. Prit Pal Singh, Vice-Chancellor, said that the Physiotherapy Department is dedicated to the cause of service to humanity via its free OPD and camps, along with its commitment of world class training to its students. He praised efforts of the staff and the students to serve the society while following the teachings of […] Guru Nanak […] Ji in practical sense”, the statement reads.
