Ahmedabad, India: Activists of Hindu extremist body Bajrang Dal today reportedly vandalised theatres in Ahmedabad. They were demanding a ban on the screening of the Aamir Khan starrer controversial movie ‘PK’.

Reports from Agra say Aamir Khan’s film ‘PK’ screening was disrupted by protestors who accused Aamir Khan of his alleged double standards and even asked him to move to Pakistan.

Protesters accused Aamir Khan for propagating ‘love-jihad’ in ‘PK’ movie as it shows romance between the characters of Anushka Sharma (who played an Indian Hindu girl) and Sushant Singh Rajput (who played a Pakistani Muslim boy) in the film.

There were numerous protests by activists of the Bajrang Dal and Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) in different Indian cities including Jammu, Delhi, Mumbai, Bhopal, Agra and Ahmedabad.

Yoga trainer “Baba” Ramdev also criticized the film and accused it of promoting ‘objectionable content’. Demanding a ban on PK, Ramdev said that people associated with the film should be ostracised from society.

Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) in it’s police complaint said that the story of this film is supporting the conceived notion of ‘Love Jihad’ and a Pakistani Muslim youth is being glorified in it.

It alleged that the purpose behind producing such a film is creating confusion in Hindus’ mind and urged the police to register a case of crimes under section 153 A, along with 295 A and 34 and this film should be immediately banned.

Hindu Legal Cell-Delhi in it’s complaint moved before Delhi police had accused the film for showing Hindu gods in ‘bad light’.
