Amritsar: Criticising police action against students of Jamia Millia Islamia University of New Delhi and Aligarh Muslim University of U.P, the Sikh Youth of Punjab (SYP) has announced to hold a demonstration in Guru Nanak Dev University (GNDU) in Amritsar tomorrow.

It is notable that the Delhi police entered in Jamia Millia Islamia University campus on Sunday evening and used force against university students, who were demonstrating against controversial Citizenship Amendment Act. Students have alleged that the police beat up students after entering into hostels and library. Several students and police personnels were reportedly injured during this incident.

After learning about Jamia Millia Isalamia University incident students of Aligarh Muslim University in Uttar Pradesh also held demonstration, after which UP police reportedly used forces against protesting students.

Terming the police action against students as ‘police terrorism’, the Sikh Youth of Punjab (SYP) president Paramjit Singh Mand said that the SYP will hold a demonstration at GNDU against police action against students of Muslim Universities. He said that the protest will be held at 1 pm on Tuesday (December 17).
