Police action prevents acting jathedars from opening up office in Talwandi Sabo

Bathinda: The Punjab police’s crackdown against acting jathedars and leaders and activists of Shiromani Akali Dal Amritsar (Mann) and United Akali Dal (UAD) prevented acting jathedars appointed by the Panthic Gathering (Nov. 10, 2015) from opening up an office at Talwandi Sabo.

Notably, the police has put many Sikh leaders under house arrest in wake of acting jathedar’s announcement to open a control room office in a Gurdwara Sahib near Talwandi Sabo.

The police team was deployed outside the house of district SAD (A) president Parminder Singh Ballianwali at Shant Nagar in the city. Officers did not allow him to go out from the residence.

Even United Akali Dal leader Gurdeep Singh Brar was also not allowed to move out from his residence in Hazura Kapura colony in the city.

Bhai  Amrik Singh Ajnala was stopped when he was on his way to Bathinda from Amritsar at Bhai Talwandi chowk and he along with 35 supporters was taken to Zira police station where he was released in the evening.

Bhai Dhian Singh Mand, UAD chief Mohkam Singh, SAD (Mann) leader Jaskaran Singh Kahn Singh Wala were also stopped on their way to Talwandi Sabo.

Reacting to the police action, Bhai Baljit Singh Daduwal opened a temporary office at Dadu village in Haryana.
