Ludhiana: Out of 7 Sikh youths that were arrested by the Ludhiana Police around 10 days ago, Two youths name Amanpreet Singh and Kuldeep Singh here on Wednesday have got their Police remand extended for upto two days. Remaining 5 Sikh youth have been transferred to Judicial custody and sent to jail.
While interacting with SikhSiyasat News Advocate Jaspal Singh Manjhpur stated that as per F.I.R no 271/ 29-9-2017 Police Division no 7 has invoked Section 16, 17, 18, 19, 20 of the unlawful act (Prevention) Act and Section 25 of the Arms Act, against the arrested youths. Out of 7 arrested only two named Amanpreet Singh and Kuldeep Singh have been kept in police custody rest all are sent to jail under Judicial custody.
Furthermore, along with extending the Police custody of Amanpreet Singh and Kuldeep Singh the court has also ordered the Police to again produce the accused in the court on 13th October 2017.
It is notable that Manpreet Singh was a minor, one of the seven youths arrested by the police, who was sent to the custody of juveniles after arrest.
