Preneet Kaur visits Sirsa based controversial dera to seek ‘blessings’ of self-styled godman

Sirsa, Haryana (April 14, 2014): It is learnt that sitting MP and Congress party’s candidate from Patiala Preneet Kaur recently visited the Sirsa based controversial dera to seek “blessings” of self-styled godman and dera head Gurmeet Ram Rahim.

According to media reports Dera spokesperson Pawan Insan said: “[t]hough we are in Delhi, I came to know that Preneet Kaur had visited the dera to seek blessings”.

Preneet Kaur, who is wife of former Punjab CM Captain Amrinder Singh, is believed to have visited to seek support of dera for Lok Sabha election. The polling is scheduled to be held in Punjab on April 30.

It is notable that dera head is facing criminal charges of rape, sexual abuse and murder in a CBI court. It is believed that controversial godman was able to evade his arrest because of his political links.
