New Delhi: As per the media reports a pro-hindutva BJP’s youth wing and a group called Hindu Jagaran Manch on Wednesday forced a Kashmiri trader in Mussoorie  to shut his shop.

Report published in an English vernacular said that 59-year-old Manzoor Ahmad has allegedly posted some material praising the Pakistani Army on his social media account.

Dharampal Singh Panwar president of the BJP youth wing in Mussoorie who lead the rowdy group while interacting with Indian Express stated that after the shop was shut down, “we and the local traders’ body went to the police station to file a complaint against him.”

Moreover, the SHO of Mussoorie police station Rajeev Ruthann said that the trader had filed a complaint of his own about his Facebook account being hacked, and that the alleged post had now been removed from his page. His phone has been sent to the cyber cell to verify claims of hacking.

Manzoor Ahmad’s family is one of the oldest residing family in the region of Budgam district. They are involved in the business of dealing in ready made garments since 1971.

This is not the first time that the district has witnessed such a perplexed situation as last month when India was defeated by Pakistan in a cricket match some Kashmiri youth were seen chanting ‘Pakistan Zindabad’ slogan which infuriated the people with pro-hindutva inclination. It was later claimed by the BJP leaders that the Kashmiri traders had ‘incited’ the youths to do so.

After this  incident the local BJP leaders along with the Mussoorie Traders and Welfare Association on June 20 threatened the Kashmiri traders and their family with exodus from the district by February 2018.

“We want the new Kashmiri traders to leave Mussoorie by February-end. On Thursday, we shall give a memorandum to the Mussoorie SDM on this,” notes Indian Express (IE).
