The Dal Khalsa said this while referring to reports in a section of the media, which indicated that the Union Home Ministry had decided to oppose the commutation of the death sentence notwithstanding Prof. Bhullar’s poor health.

As per certain media reports the Government of India (GOI) has decided to oppose commutation of death sentence awarded to Sikh political prisoner Professor Devender Pal Singh Bhullar.

According to a news reported by Indian Express (IE) the Ministry of Home Affairs has decided to oppose the commutation of death sentence of Prof. Devinderpal Singh Bhullar, notwithstanding his poor medical condition.

“Besides Rajiv Gandhi’s killers, we have moved SC against commutation of death sentences of 15 people… In Bhullar’s case we are going to stick to the stand, the only consideration being his deteriorating health,” said an official.
