Protests follow Arvind Kejriwal during Punjab visit

Amritsar: Protests continue to follow Aam Aadmi Party convenor and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s visit to the state. Arvind is on five day visit to Punjab. He visited the Majha region on the third day of his state tour yesterday. Arvind Kejriwal had to faced protests by ruling party workers and members of some organisations at several places.

A section of the residents of Maqboolpura under the banner of Vishaw Valmiki Kaumi Ekta Dharam Samaj supported by the ruling parties staged a protest near Kejriwal’s rally venue, notes The Tribune (TT).

Local sources told Sikh Siyasat News (SSN) that anti-Aam Aadmi Party posters put up at various places in the city of Amritsar. These posters accused the Delhi CM to have failed to deliver promises made to the people of Delhi.

Arvind Kejriwal is focussing on farmers’ suicide and drugs abuse issues in Punjab. His visit aims at mobilising support for the Aam Aadmi party for upcoming Punjab elections 2017.

While addressing gatherings of his party workers and supporters at several places Arvind Kejriwal openly accused Revenue Minister Bikram Singh Majitha of having hand in glove with the drug mafia. He said that lopsided policies of the state responsible for the agrarian crisis.
