Punjab Farmer’s Family Returns A Portion of Land To Nature; Forest To Be Planted in Bhagran

To maintain environmental and ecological balance it is necessary to keep 33% of land under trees. But only 6% of land surface of Punjab is covered by trees. Therefore adverse environmental changes are taking place in Punjab.

Bhai Satpal Singh Purewal who resides in Seattle (USA) has decided to return to portion of his land to the nature and plant a small forest on it.

A team of Agriculture and Environment Center visited Satpal Singh Purewal’s native village Bhagran (near Mukerian) and met his brother S. Nirmal Singh. Bhai Davinder Singh (forest plantation in charge of Kaar Sewa Khadoor Sahib) was also present. Plants for this forest will be planted by Kaar Sewa Khadoor Sahib.
