Punjab Govt. Says: No Summons Received or Effected by Sikhs For Justice to Punjab CM Capt. Amarinder

June 5, 2017 | By

Chandigarh: In a written statement issued June 04 the Punjab government maintained that the Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh has not received any summons, nor have the same been effected, by the Sikhs for Justice Forum (SJF), as reported in a section of the media.

In this statement an official spokesperson said as and when any summons is received, the same will be dealt with appropriately under the law.

The statement itself states that the Official Spokesperson of Punjab government was reacting to news reports about an attempted service of summons by the Sikhs for Justice forum on Captain Amarinder Singh through The Hague Convention on the Service Abroad of Judicial and Extra Judicial Documents in Civil or Commercial Matters.

The spokesperson alleged that this was not the first time the SJF was “trying to whip up a needless and unfounded controversy on the issue of service of such summons”.

“A few weeks ago, in true Wild West style, they had announced a “reward” of 10000 USD to any person who could effect such summons”, he added.

The service of summons is a very common routine process in legal proceedings, the spokesperson said.
