Amritsar: Appreciating the move of Punjab government ‘s decision to scrap the Khalsa University Act, Dal Khalsa spokesman Kanwar Pal Singh said it’s sad but not bad. Explaining further, he said it’s sad because the institution in the name of Khalsa has met its waterloo within a span of one year.
“At the same time, the decision is not bad because we all know that the intention of the management under Majithia was not to create Khalsa institution but to do profiteering and make it family affair.”
The Management riding roughshod of all objections and concerns failed to read the writing on the wall. He said the general masses from day one objected to setting up of the University within the 330 acres of existing heritage building of the Khalsa College.
He squarely blamed the stubborn attitude of the management for ruining the careers of nearly 300 students and the faculty. He, however, urged the government to ensure that career of the 300 students was not jeopardized and they are suitably migrated to some other university.
