Ambala, Haryana: There are reports that the Punjab police personnel tried to abduct Bhai Gurbaksh Singh Khalsa on the intervening night of 18 and 19 November, 2014 but the attempt was foiled by supporters of the Bandi Singh Rihai Morcha.
Talking to the Sikh Siyasat News (SSN) over phone a representative of Bandi Singh Rihai Morcha said that five Punjab police personnel in civil dresses were identified by Bhai Gurbaksh Singh Khalsa and other Sikhs at Gurdwara Lakhnaur Sahib in Ambala. “While one of them managed to escape, we captured four others. They admitted that they were employees of Punjab police” he said.
“Firstly on 17 November two suspicious persons were spotted by Morcha supporters. Bhai Gurbaksh Singh called them. They said that they were from Ambala CID. As they were in drunken condition, we told them to go back” he said.
“We told them that the morcha is located in a Gurdwara Sahib and directed them not to come here after taking drinks”, he added.
“These two persons came again on Nov. 18 evening and said that they wanted to stay with us. They told us that there was cold outside and they can not go home. We provided them proper accommodation” said the Morcha representative while adding that: “… around 11 pm three more persons arrived and they were in drunken condition. One of them ran away while we captured two of them”.
“Firstly they said that they were Sangat, but later said that they were employees of Ambala CID and ultimately admitted that they were employees of Punjab police” he informed.
After warning them against coming to Gurdwara Sahib in drunken condition we let them go, he said.
“We fear that the Punjab police may retry to abduct Bhai Gurbaksh Singh to harm the struggle for release of Sikh Political prisoners” he added.
