Anandpur Sahib, Punjab (June 10, 2014): In a complaint lodged with Ropar SSP, Shiromani Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee has alleged that an Badal Dal leader has sold land belonging to Takht Sri Kesgarh Sahib by forging documents related to the property.
Ropar SSP, Varinder Paul Singh has started probe in the matter.
According to a news report, three kanals have allegedly been sold fraudulently for Rs 3 crore.

The actual cost of the land is more than Rs 5 crore, say sources. The Badal Dal leader allegedly sold the property to a prominent Sikh dera in Haryana. The SGPC learnt about this only when construction on the land began last week.
The possible involvement of revenue officers posted at Anandpur Sahib is being examined.
The sources said that former SGPC president Gurcharan Singh Tohra, during the early eighties, had handed nine kanals near Takht Sri Kesgarh Sahib to Baba Harnam Singh (Delhiwale) for kar sewa.
The latter handed over the land to Baba Balkar Singh for running an academy for the wards of 1984 riot victims, reported The Tribune.
The SGPC, in its complaint, said that it had now learnt that a portion of the land had been sold by a resident of Bhaini village in Nurpur Bedi.
“The land is owned by the SGPC. Hence, the sale is illegal. We have started legal proceedings against the suspect,” said SGPC president Avtar Singh Makkar.
