Rail-school bus accident claimed life of at-least four school children in Punjab

Baba Bakala, Punjab (July 30, 2012): A tragic rail-shcool bus accident near Baba Bakala has claimed at least four students. Government sources have confirmed the death of four students, where some media sources have reported death of five students. As per reports a speeding mini local train rammed into their school bus at an unmanned railway crossing at Kot Mehtab Singh village near here this morning.

Sikh Siyasat sources who collected information from the spot of accident, informed that the school bus driver has hearing problem. The school children shouted a loud when they saw the train coming towards their bus, but the bus driver did not paid attention.

All four students, whose death is confirmed by government sources are girls belonging to Village Boore Nangal, including two real sister.

The mini local train was moving from Beas Railway Station to Goindwal when it rammed into the school bus near Baba Bakala at Kot Mehtab Singh village, about 35 kms away from Amritsar.

A rail bus is a single coach train shaped like a bus.

The students were studying in the Sant Baba Majha Singh Karmjot Model School at Baba Bakala town and were in the age group of 12 to 14 years. More than 20 students were travelling in the bus.
