Raj Kakra’s film “Kaum De Heere” to be released world-over, except India, on March 14

Melbourne, Australia (March 09, 2014): Lyricist turned actor Raj Kakra’s début movie “Kaum De Heere” shall be released in Australia, New Zealand, Europe, United States of America and Canada on March 2014, but it it’s release in India remains under clouds as India’s Central Board of Film Certification has banned the screening of this movie.

Kaum De Heere movie depicts the lives and sacrifices of Shaheed Beant Singh, Satwant Singh and Kehar Singh. Shaheed Beant Singh and Satwant Singh had assassinated then Indian Prime Minister Indira Gandhi on October 31, 1984 after she had ordered attack on Darbar Sahib (Amritsar) besides many other historic Sikh gurdwaras in Punjab and adjoining states in June 1984.

Raj Kakra, who has played lead role of Bhai Beant Singh in this movie , told Qaumi Awaaz – Melbourne based Punjabi Radio, that the the team of Kaum De Heere has decided to release the movie on March 14, 2014 in rest of the word, as it is doubtful that CBFC would clear the movie for screening in India.

Raj Kakra said that the storyline of the movie is based on true events related to lives and martyrdom of Bhai Beant Singh, Satwant Singh and Kehar Singh.

He criticized CBFC for it’s decision to install ban on the movie.
