Students of Government College Hoshiarpur – led by activists and leaders of the Sikh Youth of Punjab, held a protest at Hoshiarpur, Punjab in wake of suicide by a Hyderabad University Ph. D. student Rohith Vemula. Rohith Vemula was a Moolniwasi (also called as Dalit) and his suicide has highlighted social and political injustices of the caste system.
