Fatehgarh Sahib: It is learnt that the Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) candidate Kulwant Kaur won election from Hawara Kalan zone of Panchyat Samiti, Khamano.
Hawara Kalan is native village of Bhai Jagtar Singh Hawara, who is presently confined in Tihar Jail in Delhi. He was announced as ‘acting Jathedar’ of Akal Takht Sahib on 10 November 2015 during Panthic gathering at Chabba village near Tarn Taran.
Former MP S. Simranjit Singh Mann led SAD (Amritsar) bagged only in seat Zila Parishad and Block Samiti elections in district Fatehgarh Sahib, the results of which were declared yesterday.
The party also won Sahejra Block Samati seat. A press release by SAD (A) states that party candidate Bibi Jagjit Kaur Sahejra bagged Sahejra Block Samati seat.
