SAD (Badal) leader Balwinder Bhundar files nomination papers for Rajya Sabha

Chandigarh: Shiromani Akali Dal (Badal) General Secretary Balwinder Singh Bhunder today filed his nomination papers for Rajya Sabha elections to be held on May 31st to fill two vacancies from the state. 

Bhunder filed his nomination with Secretary Punjab Vidhan Sabha, Shashi Lakhanpal Mishra, who is the returning officer in the presence of President Shiromani Akali Dal and Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal.

Bhunder who filed his nomination papers for his third term in Rajya Sabha was accompanied by Member Parliament Ranjit Singh Brahmpura, Cabinet Ministers Sikander Singh Maluka, Surjit Singh Rakhra, Parminder Singh Dhindsa and former minister Sarwan Singh Phillaur, CPS Virsa Singh Valtoha and MLA Ravinder Singh Brahmpura.

 Later talking to the media, Bhunder, who was a member of the Rajya Sabha from 1998 to 2002 and July 2010 onwards, thanked his party, CM Parkash Singh Badal and President SAD (Badal) for expressing faith on him. Senior SAD (Badal) leader said he would continue to raise party’s voice and issues in the upper house for the welfare of state, farmers and hard working people of the state.
