Chandigarh/ Punjab (June 11, 2013): All India Sikh Students Federation (AISSF) led by S. Karnail Singh Peermohammad has written a letter of Giani Gurbachan Singh, the jathedar of Akal Takht Sahib, demanding action against Paramjit Singh Sarna and Harvinder Singh Sarna for betraying the Sikh Panth.
In his letter the AISSF President has maintained that by opposing Sikh Genocide 1984 Memorial that is being raised at Gurdwara Rakabganj Sahib, Sarna duo have commited bitrayel with the Sikhs.
Peermohammad has urged Akal Takht Jathedar to issue a directive asking the two brothers to appear before the highest seat of Sikhs.
It is notable that former Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC) president Paramjit Singh Sarna has opposed the construction of the Sikh Genocide 1984 memorial that is to be built inside Gurdwara Rakabganj Sahib complex. Sarna has also filed a petition in the Delhi High Court against the construction of the memorial.
In a two-page letter to Jathedar, a copy of which is available with Sikh Siysat News, AISSF president has lashed out at Sarna brothers for filing the petition against memorial saying they were traitors of the Sikh community.
The memorial is being built in the memory of those innocent Sikhs who were brutally killed in Delhi during November 1984 Sikh genocide.
AISSF president has maintained that Sarna was opposing the memorial to show his allegiance towards the Congress party.
“How could Sarna say that memorial will violate sanctity of Gurdwara Rakabganj when he himself has been responsible for conversion of Lakhi Shah Wanjara Hall to a marriage palace. Does he not know that Lakhi Shah Wanjara Hall is the place where body of ninth incarnation of Sikh gurus, Guru Teg Bahadur was cremated. Sikhs feel annoyed when they remember the sacrifice of their Guru has been converted to a kind of business centre which is still prevalent even after ouster of Sarna,” Peermohammad has pointed out.
