Self-styled godman Ashutosh reportedly died; Dera is yet to make statement

Jalandhar, Punjab (January 29, 2014): According to certain media reports Ashutosh, a controversial godman, the founder and head of ‘Divya Jyoti Jagrati Sansthan’ (DJJS) died on January 28 at his dera in Nurmahal town 21 kms from Jalandhar.

According to YesPunjab.Com: [t]he Dera is still to make an official announcement of its chief even as devotees have started thronging the dera.

“A strict secrecy is maintained and the access is being restricted only to a select few” YesPunjab.Com, a news portal by senior Punjab journalist H. S. Bawa has reported.

“A source, present inside the dera said, the followers of Ashutosh are claiming that their spiritual head has gone into a samadhi”, YesPunjab reported.

“A police official and a few media-persons said that they were also not allowed to the place in the dera where the body was being kept”.

As per information the exact cause of the death is still to be revealed by the dera.
