Ontario, Canada (November 28, 2013): It is learnt that the Sikhs For Justice, a US based Sikh human rights and advocacy group, is going to hold the “Sikh Genocide and Sovereignty Conference 2013” on December 07, 2013.
The Conference would update on the Sikh Genocide complaint to the UN Human Rights Council (UNHRC). Eyewitnesses and survivors of the conference shall also share their experience or eyewitness accounts during this conference.
As per information the list of guest speakers include Bibi Jagdish Kaur, survivor of the 1984 Sikh Genocide who had witnessed Sajjan Kumar controlling death squads. She watched Indian police facilitating the extermination of the Sikhs. It is notable that Bibi Jagdish Kaur had lost her son, husband and other family members during the genocide.
According to information Indira Prahst, Chair, Department of Sociology and Anthropology who has travelled to Punjab, India and Pakistan to study the issues related to the Sikhs, and who has interviewed many Sikh survivors of the torture in India shall also be addressing the conference.
