SGPC Chief Secretary Harcharan Singh Resigns From His Post

Amritsar: It is learned that incumbent Shiromani Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee (SGPC) Chief Secretary Haracharan Singh here today has resigned from his post. More details pertaining to his resignation were awaited at the time of reporting this news.

It is worth mentioning here that the appointment of Harcharan Singh as Chief Secretary has been marred with controversy from the very beginning. His appointment was also opposed by various Sikh organisations in their respective capacity, as his accommodation into the SGPC was seen by many as unnecessary and a politically motivated move.
There were reports that SGPC Chief Kirpal Singh Badungar and Harcharan Singh often times did not see eye to eye and were not in good terms with each other.
