He urged the Andhra Pradesh government to take stern action against those responsible for flaring up communal tension. Makkar said SGPC would also write to Andhra governor to file criminal cases against persons for hurting religious feelings of Sikhs.

Meanwhile, expressing deep concern over the violent clash in Hyderabad over burning of the Nishan Sahib, the Dal Khalsa has appealed to the local leadership of both communities to defuse the tension and come forward to resolve the crisis.

In a written statement sent to the Sikh Siyasat News (SSN) the Dal Khalsa also blamed rumour mongers for triggering trouble between both communities, which, it said clashed for the first time in Hyderabad. Expressing grief over the killings in the clash, party spokesperson Kanwar Pal Singh said as per reports the clash erupted in Kishanbagh area of old Hyderabad city after miscreants burnt ‘Nishan Sahib’ in the early hours of Wednesday.
