Chandigarh: As per the media reports Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) a Gurudwara Management body of the Sikhs may browse legal options for an appeal against anticipatory bail given to Congress leader Sajjan Kumar, whose name had prominently figured in the November 1984 Sikh Genocide.
Whilst addressing the media persons on Thursday SGPC president Kirpal Singh Badungar said the world was witness to the Sikh Genocide where thousands were butchered in broad day light and still the government couldn’t produce the witnesses.
He further stated that he wouldn’t comment on the court’s order, Badungar said bail should have been granted keeping in view the circumstances and historical facts.
He added that the Sikh body would procure a copy of bail orders and if needed they would go in for appeal against the orders.
While talking to Sikh Siyasat News (SSN) over phone Advocate H.S Phoolka said at the first place it is the right and duty of the SIT to appeal against the bail order. Secondly, they were waiting for the SIT’s reaction on this bail order, if in case it fails to appeal against the said bail order then he along with complainant Harwinder Singh will challenge the anticipatory bail to Sajjan Kumar.
Furthermore he stated that if any organisation takes an initiative in this regard he would hail such a stand, but it should not be merely for a showbiz.
