Shaheed Dilawar Singh’s martyrdom day observed at Akal Takht Sahib

Amritsar, Punjab (August 31, 2014): Shaheed Dilawar Singh, who laid his life on August 31, 1996 to end tyrant regime of Punjab chief minister Beant Singh, was remembered at Akal Takht Sahib by the Sikh nation. An annual function marked the martyrdom day of Bhai Dilawar at Akal Takht Sahib.

Sikh Siyasat News (SSN) sources revealed representatives of various Sikh bodies and the Sikh sangat were present during the Ardas samagam held in the memory of Bhai Dilwar Singh.

It is also learnt that Giani Jagtar Singh, Granthi of Darbar Sahib, honoured S. Chamkaur Singh, brother of Shaheed Dilawar Singh on this occasion.

Bhai Dilwar Singh had laid his life to end CM Beant Singh’s tyrant regime that was responsible for unleashing the region of state-terror on people of Punjab. Bhai Dilwar Singh, along with Bhai Jagtar Singh Hawara and Balwant Singh Rajoana had acted out of existential concerns of the Sikh nation.
