Shaheed Bhai Dilawar Singh
Amritsar/Punjab (August 29, 2012): Bhai Dilawar Singh was declared as national martyr of Sikhs by Akal Takhat Sahib earlier this year. The status was formally tendered upon him after more than sixteen years of his martyrdom though he was considered as a martyr by Sikhs since the day of martyrdom.
It is expected that on August 31, 2012 the martyrdom day of Shaheed Dilawar Singh shall be observed at Sri Akal Takhat Sahib by various Sikh organization. Akali Dal Panch Pardhani’s newly selected President Bhai Kulbir Singh Barapind has issued an appeal to the Sikh Sangat to attend the ardas (prayers) at Sri Akal Takhat Sahib on August 31, 2012 and thereby pay homage to the Bhai Dilawar Singh.
In a separate statement similar appeal is also issued by AISSF (Peermohammad).
