Shiv Sena activists burnt effigy of Sant Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale at Anadpur Sahib

Anandpur Sahib (February 15, 2014): It is learnt that a handful members extremist Hindutva group Shiv Sena burnt photo/ effigy of Shaheed Sant Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale at Bhagat Ravidas Chowk, Anandpur Sahib on February 12.

According to certain media reports [a]s soon as the news of this mischievous act spread in the town, Sikh youth in large number assembled at Takht Sri Kesgarh Sahib and approached the current Jathedar.

Giani Mal Singh, Jathedar of Takht Sri Kesgarh Sahib reportedly took serious notice of the act and termed it as intolerable. He asked local police administration to take proper action against the accused of hurting Sikh sentiments.

“Such acts are the efforts of breaking peaceful environment at all that would not be allowed”, he reportedly said.
